Websites & Branding

Brand identity, content and hand-coded websites,
designed together.

Every site is hand-coded, built without templates, shaped by the brief, structured around the information, easy to navigate, accessible by design, responsive on every screen, built with only the code it needs, optimised for Google search and structured for AI-assisted discovery.

What Oxara Studio develops

Oxara Studio develops brand identities, content structures and hand-coded websites for health and care providers, clinicians, academics and researchers.

Each project begins with the organisation, the work and the material that must be communicated. The identity, content structure and website are developed together, with the website coded around the brief rather than fitted into a pre-existing theme.

Built for your organisation,
not fitted into a template.

Many websites are assembled from an existing theme and extended with page builders and plugins. Oxara Studio takes a different approach: each website is coded around the client’s content, identity and users.

This gives us direct control over the structure of the site, how it behaves on different screen sizes, how accessible it is and what code each page actually needs. It also avoids loading the website with unnecessary features simply because they came with a theme.

01

The structure follows the content

Pages, navigation and user journeys are developed around the organisation’s material and priorities. Content does not have to be shortened, duplicated or forced into blocks created for a different kind of website.
02

Only the necessary code is carried

Only the components the website uses are included. The site does not have to carry unused layouts, scripts and features bundled with a theme, page builder or broad plugin stack.
03

Direct control over every screen

Responsive behaviour, semantic HTML, keyboard access, typography, motion and interaction can be adjusted at source rather than worked around through theme settings.
04

Built to adapt

New pages and functions can be developed within the website’s own visual and structural system instead of being limited to the options exposed by a template.

Where content management, forms or third-party integrations are required, they can be introduced deliberately around the brief rather than allowing the platform to determine the design.

Hand-coded does not simply describe how the website is made. It means the structure, design and functionality are developed specifically for the organisation they must serve.

Five projects, five different briefs: a group identity and staffing website, a nursing home website, a specialist professional profile, a regulatory consultancy website and a personal academic site. Each is presented through its own visual system because each brief required a different structure, tone and visual language.

Case study · Group identity & demonstration website

Aries Care Staff

Care staffing · Group identity mark · Eight-page demonstration website

Aries Care Staff was developed as a care-staffing identity and website concept. The name was retained deliberately because the Aries symbol was intended as a group mark that could be shared across the client’s related businesses. Keeping Aries in the name preserved that connection and allowed the identity to extend beyond one service.

The mark brings together the horns of the Aries ram and the outline of a heart — strength and care in a single form. Oxara Studio interpreted that idea and developed it into a coherent identity system. The mark was constructed parametrically and delivered as a vector, allowing its geometry to remain consistent across websites, social media, print and future group applications.

Case study · Complete care-home website

Fir Tree House

Nursing home · Banstead, Surrey · Eight-page website

Fir Tree House is a small, nurse-led nursing home in Banstead, Surrey, offering residential, nursing and dementia care, with a registered nurse on site around the clock. The website was built around the home itself: its gardens, rooms, meals, activities and care, shown through genuine photography rather than stock imagery.

The structure places the information residents and families need — care, the home, daily life, food and contact details — within clear navigation and gives the home a distinct visual identity rather than a generic care template.

  • Complete website covering the home page, care services, the home, activities, meals, gallery, contact and privacy.
  • Genuine photography throughout, including the gardens, dining areas, rooms, meals and activities.
  • A distinct navy, gold and teal visual identity.
  • Content organised around the practical questions residents and families are likely to ask.

Case study · Specialist professional website

Dr Christopher Bowles

Mechanical circulatory support · Harefield Hospital · Five-section professional profile

Dr Christopher Bowles is a specialist in mechanical circulatory support and clinical perfusion science at Harefield Hospital. He holds a PhD and BSc (Hons), and his research and clinical record spans nearly four decades, including more than sixty peer-reviewed publications, national and international guideline work and medical-device advisory roles.

The brief was to organise a substantial body of specialist and academic material so it could be read clearly: biography, research, guidelines, advisory work and contact, each with its own internal structure. The presentation is deliberately restrained — a specialist professional profile, not a promotional site.

  • Five-section structure: biography, research, guidelines, advisory work and contact.
  • Research organised around an anchor publication, selected publications by year and active research themes.
  • Guideline and clinical-innovation work presented by body or context, including the UK Resuscitation Council, European Resuscitation Council and Harefield Hospital.
  • Advisory work separated into due diligence, industry consultation, company roles and regulatory appointments.
  • Qualifications shown clearly as PhD and BSc (Hons).

Case study · Live consultancy website

Oxara Consulting

Health and care regulatory consultancy · Live website

Oxara Consulting is a health and care regulatory consultancy working on CQC compliance, enforcement response, governance recovery and inspection preparation. The website had to communicate complex services to readers under regulatory pressure without overselling the work or burying the substance.

The build established a complete design system and information hierarchy, including a specialisms landing page, dedicated service pages, consistent page standards and a coherent identity across the live website.

  • Complete design system: Cormorant Garamond and DM Mono on a purple, indigo and orange palette.
  • Specialisms architecture — a landing page and dedicated pages for each area of regulatory work.
  • Regulatory and professional content structured with a clear hierarchy, written in plain, consequence-led language.
  • Consistent standards applied across every page: navigation, calls to action, disclaimers and legal content.

The dot was not originally planned as a conventional brand device. It appeared when Oxara and Studio were first brought together and was kept because it gave the name a distinctive rhythm and a single active element. On the website, it becomes the living point of the wordmark — moving quietly while the rest of the identity remains restrained.

01

Brand identity

Marks, wordmarks, palettes and identity systems developed from the project's own material, designed to work across websites, social media, print and other applications.
02

Content structure

Information architecture and writing: what the site needs to say, in what order, on which pages and in language the intended reader can use.
03

Hand-coded website design and build

Complete websites coded around the content, tested and delivered across desktop, tablet and mobile, without relying on an off-the-shelf theme or page builder.
04

Technical SEO foundations

Page architecture, semantic HTML, titles, descriptions, crawlable navigation and indexing controls built into the website from the start rather than retrofitted.

Every website is built with technical SEO foundations and content structured for conventional search and AI-assisted discovery. This includes clear page architecture, semantic HTML, page titles and descriptions, crawlable navigation, indexing controls and structured data where appropriate.

Ongoing keyword strategy, content optimisation and performance monitoring can be scoped separately. Search rankings and inclusion in AI-generated answers cannot be guaranteed.
